UPFA wins EP budget

The Eastern Provincial Council's budged proposals for 2014 presented by Chief Minister Najeeb Abdul Majeed was adopted with a majority of 3 votes at the council meeting held recently.

The budged meeting was presided over by Eastern Provincial Council, Chairman Ariyawathi Galapathi.

Seventeen councillors from UPFA, Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, National Congress, All Ceylon Muslim Congress and Sri Lanka Freedom Party voted in favour of the budged proposals. However, the fourteen Councillors from UNP and TNA voted against it.
