The groom was pregnant at the wedding!

They met each other as activists while demonstrating for transsexual and transgender rights in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At that time HE, Alexis Taborda, was a SHE, and SHE, Karen Bruselario, was a HE!

The attraction for each other was very strong but only problem was the fact that they were transsexuals. And fortunately for them, Argentina in 2012, passed a law allowing transsexuals to get national IDs listing the gender with which they could identify themselves.

Although this enabled them to tie the knot yet there remained another problem as the groom had been pregnant when he entered wedded bliss. But it was not a grave issue for Karen and Alexis as they wed in the north-eastern city of Victoria. "It was a very emotional day, unique, really special because a dream came true for us. We had a civil marriage," Taborda, 26, gleefully said.

Their next big step: Taborda, who legally is male as he self-identifies as such, is 36 weeks. pregnant, with the couple's first child. Neither had sex reassignment surgery. They claim to be the first couple of two transsexuals to wed here who have not had reassignment surgery. Taborda admitted that he does not feel a lot of maternal instinct though he is ready to give birth December 22 by Caesarean section to a girl the couple wants to name Genesis Angelina. "It's really weird to see Karen dying to feel the baby's kicks or to have my symptoms," he said. Argentine transsexual Alexis Taborda (R), born as a woman but who changed his gender to be a man and carrying an eigh-month pregnancy, marries his girlfriend Karen Bruselario, who was born male.
