Insurance scheme for old artistes

A program to insure all artistes will be introduced shortly following a directive by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Minister of Mass Media and Information Keheliya Rambukwella has been instructed to draw up a scheme in this connection.

At present, old artistes are paid an allowance by the Tower Hall Foundation and artistes had called upon the President that the allowance they receive is not sufficient. The insurance scheme will be introduced shortly, said Richard Abeywardena, a well-known teledrama actor in Kurunegala.
