Seminar on Lanka-German trade
A seminar on 'Bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and Germany'
organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka will be held
at the Chamber Auditorium, D R Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10, on
Thursday from 3.00 to 4.30 p.m. Ambassador of Germany in Sri Lanka, Dr
Jurgen Morhard will be the guest speaker. Deputy Head of Mission, Ms
Marja Einig, and Third Secretary of the Embassy will be present.
They will speak on business trend, trade potential, opportunities for
export, import, investment and other services in Germany.
There will also be Q and A session where participants could interact
with the Ambassador and officials of the German Embassy.
According to Department of Commerce sources, bilateral trade between
Germany and Sri Lanka stood at US$ 771.69 million in 2012.
Sri Lanka exports apparel and clothing, solid tyres, tea, gloves,
rubber tyres, natural rubber, fish and leather products to Germany and
imports motor cars, electrical machinery, medical and surgical
instruments and appliances. |
