Ranga Dayasena:
Young Architect of the Year 2014

Architect Ranga Dayasena is the recipient of the 'Young Architect of the
Year-2014' awarded by the SriLanka Institute of Architects and the
winner of the 'Design award of Excellence' under the category of
'Community Architecture' at 'Architect 2014' - National Conference and
Exhibition on Architecture held in February.
Dayasena is the Principal Architect of axis chartered architects with
10 years of Post-Charter Experience. Being a past student of City School
of Architecture (former Colombo School of Architecture) he completed
Part One of professional practice examination with a commendation from
Sri Lanka Institute of Architects [SLIA part I] - Yr-1999 and passed
part two of professional practice examination from Sri Lanka Institute
of Architects [SLIA part II]-Yr- 2002. He qualifies as a Chartered
Architect with the completion of part three [Charter qualification] of
professional practice examination from Sri Lanka Institute of Architects
[SLIA III/Charter]-Yr-2004.
He then qualified as a Green Associate Professional by successfully
completing the course of study and fulfilling the requirements of the
accreditation Board of the Green Building Council of Sri Lanka in
November 2013. His primary and secondary academic education was from
Royal College, Colombo 7 directing him to University of Colombo where he
graduated in Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Sciences in the year
1999.
He had gained professional experience in the field of architecture
initially by working as an Architectural Assistant at late. Archt.
Senavi De Silva and Archt. Lyn Edrisingha.
Then he joins late Archt Karthi Ganeshan and works as an Assistant
Architect followed by Dialog Axiata PLC. Where he gained wealth of
experiences and exposure towards Interior Architecture and Project.
Currently Ranga Dayasena is a visiting lecturer of City School of
Architecture (CSA) and the University of Moratuwa (UOM). |
