Big bully learns a lesson

"Kalu, Kalu." When Kaushan turned around he saw his classmate Vimal. However Kaushan just walked ahead ignoring him. Kaushan and Vimal studied in the same class and the former was quite intelligent and talented. He was fair and tall in complexion. He was very good in his studies and he participated in all extra-curricular activities.

On the other hand Vimal was a good looking boy but his behaviour was not up to expectation. He was an average student who had no interest in sports. Nobody liked Vimal because he used to call everyone using nicknames.

Kaushan did not want to kick up a row with Vimal so he pretended as if he did not hear. Vimal continued shouting "Kalu, Kalu..." and after sometime he stopped.

On the next day everyone was at school as usual. According to the timetable the first period was mathematics for the grade eight students.

Mathematics teacher Menike asked Vimal who was seated in front to collect all the books so that she could correct the homework. While collecting the books, Vimal started calling everyone by nicknames. The teacher who was listening thought that he should be taught a lesson.

The days passed with sports meet and other important events at school but the teacher did not forget what she wanted to do.

On the last day of the first term teachers started to hand over the reports to students.

They appreciated the good conduct and service done to school.

After giving away the reports and awards, the teachers delivered a speech. While appreciating their good behaviour and wished them good luck for the future. Teachers are second only to one's parents. So the students listened to her speech with attention.

Then she said, "Children do you know that there is a boy called "Aliya" because his head is very small but his body is quite big."

Everyone looked out Vimal and started laughing because he was the only student in the school who had such an appearance.

Vimal looked around and saw that everyone was looking at him. Then he bowed down.

The teacher was still on the stage. She said, "Vimal now don't you feel sad? Nobody wants to be hurt.

Wipe your tears and please do not do this again. The teacher's words impressed Vimal and he resolved not to annoy others hereafter.
