The Maldivian Minister of Foreign Affairs
Ms. Dunya Maumoon called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at
Temple Trees yesterday. where she assured the President of
Maldives’ continuous support to Sri Lanka. The Acting High
Commissioner of Maldives in Sri Lanka Dr. Hassian Niyaaz
accompanied Ms. Maumoon. Minister of External Affairs Prof.
G.L. Peiris, Secretary to the President Mr. Lalith
Weeratunga and Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs
Mrs. Kshenuka Senewiratne were also present.
A Parliamentary delegation of Balochistan
Provincial Assembly of Pakistan headed by Speaker Mir Jan
Muhammad Khan Jamali called on the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa
at Colombo yesterday. The High Commissioner of Pakistan in
Sri Lanka Maj Gen Qasim Qureshi and other members of the

The modernised Panduwasnuwera Divisional
Secretariat which was funded by the Ministry of Public
management Reforms was opened recently by Minister of Public
management Reforms, Navin Dissanayake. Here chief minister
of the North Western Provincial Council, Dayasiri Jayasekara
welcomes the Minister.
A new website was launched at the Mohan
Lal Grero Foundation to celebrate its 10th anniversary at
Lyceum International School Nugegoda. Tissa Attanayake, Karu
Jayasuriya and Mohan Lal Grero were present at the launch.

Education Minister Bandula Gunawardena
represented Sri Lanka at the 2014 annual conference of Boao
Forum for Asia which was held under the patronage of Chinese
Premier Li Keqiang recently. The gathering of political,
economic and academic leaders of Asia was held in South
China's Hainan Province. Here Minister Gunawardena
participating in one of the sessions at the conference.
