People's Bank teams up with CEB

The People's Bank has extended its People's Mobile Banking and
People's Internet Banking services by teaming up with the Ceylon
Electricity Board (CEB) to offer customers the facility of paying their
electricity bill from home.
This service will be provided through three leading mobile
telecommunication service providers Dialog, Etisalat and Mobitel.
All bills settled through either People's Mobile Banking or Peoples
Internet Banking is updated instantly while the customer also receives
an alert relating to each transaction by an SMS to his or her mobile
phone. The service is offered free to all People's Bank customers.
Customers could also seek details relating to their electricity bill
through this banking service upon registering with the CEB.
The CEO and GM of the Bank, N. Vasantha Kumar said that the Bank has
made substantial investments in physical, technological and human
resources to fulfill the aspirations of customers. People's Mobile
Banking and People's Internet Banking are two such unique customer
services.
General Manager, CEB, W.J.L.S. Fernando said that the People's Bank
has functioned as the 'banker' of the Ceylon Electricity Board from its
inception.
"As two of Sri Lanka's leading public sector organisations that
directly serve the people, the launch of this service marks a milestone
in the 40-year journey, jointly undertaken by the two organisations," he
said.
People's Mobile Banking and People's Internet Banking enables
customers to check their account balances, make inquiries, transfer
funds within accounts maintained at the People's Bank or other banks,
pay utility bills, request cheque books and statements, check pawning
balances and many other banking related transactions. |
