Interviews for selected trainees

The Ministry of Education conducted an open competitive examination to select teacher-trainees for National College of Education for the teacher training courses on English language and Information Technology. The Department of Examinations has now released the results of the competitive examination. Around 20,000 candidates sat for the examination and only 420 candidates have scored the highest marks and they would be selected to follow the English Language Course while only 100 candidates would be selected to follow the course of Information Technology.

The Commissioner of National Colleges of Education Dias Dharmasena of the Ministry of Education said that qualified candidates would be called for interviews shortly and candidates for all other teacher-training courses are selected based on the results of the G C E (A/L) examinations.

However, the selection process for National College of Education for the current academic year is nearing completion the Commissioner said.
