Fined Rs. 2,000 for having ganja

A suspect who pleaded guilty to having ganja in his possession was fined Rs. 2,000 by the Galle Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge U.S. Kalansuriya.

Twenty grams of ganja seized at the raid was produced in court as the case production by the excise sleuths.Acting on a public tip-off excise detectives made these arrests in the Galle Public Bus stand. On the instructions of Southern Provincial Assistant Commissioner of Excise Nimal Silva and Superintendent of Excise H.W.D. Kulatunga a team of officers headed by Excise Inspector Premesh Fernando, OIC, Excise Station, Galle made this detection.
