People's Bank holds sports fiesta

The final showdown of the sports fiesta organised by the Sports Club of the People's Bank was held from September 6-7 at the Asgiriya Stadium in Kandy. Over 2,000 staff members representing all regions took part.

The two days were dedicated to host the final round contests of all key events where Trincomalee bagged the championship for cricket while Colombo South bagged the championship in football.

Puttalam was victorious in the volleyball segment while the winners in the netball segment were from Nuwara-Eliya Region.

In the tug-o-war competition, Vanni won the men's competition, while the Kandy Region won the women's competition.

People's Bank Board Director and Secretary, Ministry of Cooperative and Internal Trade, P. K. D. Amarawardane, CEO and GM of the Bank, N. Vasantha Kumar, members of the corporate and executive management were also present.
