When memory fails …

Rita, 63, was a busy, active housewife who was constantly on the ‘go’. Up at dawn to cook meals for her elderly husband and two grown children who still continued to live with their parents despite being in their late 20s, she spent the rest of the day cleaning, marketing, gardening and reading.

Breathtaking Buduruwagala rock carvings - an ornate wonder

When you enter the forest area, suddenly the placid lake of Buduruwagala is dramatically revealed through a dark arch of a forest canopy. The white skeletons of dead trees which still stand and the variety of birds’ nests on the trees in the tank instil a sense of serenity to the moment.
