NCCSL seminar on trade with Malaysia
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a
seminar on 'Bilateral Trade between Sri Lanka and Malaysia' on Tuesday
from 3.00 p.m to 4.30 p.m at the Chamber Auditorium at D R Wijewardene
Mawatha, Colombo 10.
The High Commissioner of Malaysia in Sri Lanka, Azmi Zainuddin, the
special guest, will be accompanied by Counsellor of the High Commission,
Tan Li Lung.
Trade Consul, Maltrade, Chennai, Shah Nizam Ahmad and Vice Consul,
Maltrade, Chennai, Badrul Hisham Hilal will also join the session.
They will make presentations on present business trends, trade
potential, opportunities for export, import, investment and other
services available in Malaysia. There will also be Q and A session where
participants could interact with the High Commissioner and other
officials of the High Commission.
Sri Lanka's exports to Malaysia are natural rubber, apparel, tea,
retreaded or used rubber pneumatic tyres, molluscs, whether in shell or
not, live, fresh, chilled, frozen, dried or salted.
Sri Lanka imports mainly petroleum products and oils obtained from
bituminous minerals from Malaysia. Other major imports from Malaysia
include cement, clinker, palm oil and its fractions and miscellaneous
chemical products.
Goods from Sri Lanka which have the potential to be exported to
Malaysia are natural rubber, black tea, apparel, tobacco, rubber gloves,
food preparations, printed circuits. |
