UTE supports UDA project
Colombo has been undergoing urban regeneration under the Urban
Development Authority's Metro Colombo Urban Development Project over the
past five years.

United Tractors and Equipment (UTE) recently lent their support to
this endeavour, by providing construction and paving equipment to help
overhaul Colombo's road network.
A CAT PM 200 Cold planer and four Cat 428F backhoe loaders were
presented to the Mayor of Colombo, Mohomed Muzammil by the Defence and
Urban Development Authority Ministry Secretary, Gotabaya Rajapakse.
This was part of Rs. 450 million worth of equipment and vehicles
supplied for the Metro Colombo Urban Development project which comes
under the Colombo Municipal Council.
President's Secretary Lalith Weerathunga, World Bank Country Director
for Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Francoise Clottes and UTE Chairman
Priath Fernando were also present.
The aim of the Metro Colombo Urban Development Project is to develop
Colombo by reducing the negative socio-economic impact of flooding,
while making the city safe, clean and also have convenient walkways.
"UTE is proud to contribute to make Colombo more accessible and
pedestrian-friendly.
The Colombo Municipal Council has placed their trust in the quality
of our equipment and service. In the past, we have powered the building
of highways and ports, and we plan to forge ahead, providing quality
machinery," said UTE Chairman, Priath Fernando.
