Creativity at its best

An art exhibition organised by the Art Foundation for children to mark the World Children's Day, will be held from September 27 to October 1 at the Kegalle Urban Council hall. About 100 children whose creativity has been acknowledged locally and internationally will present 500 creations based on biodiversity. Holding exhibitions of this type in a remote areas such as Kegalle will help to showcase latent talents of those in the periphery.

The Art Foundation is set-up at Kaudugama, Kegalle and has provided facilities for 100 students to continue their studies in art. Aesthetics and Fine Arts Graduate Nilanthi Weerasekera and Fine Arts Graduate R.P. Abeyratne have helped students to open new vistas of art.

"The mission of our organisation is to protect morals and values, culture and heritage which are fast diminishing," Nilanthi said.
