Memory Walk 2014 on Sept 27
The Lanka Alzheimer's Foundation will hold a Memory Walk for friends
and families of Alzheimers on September 27 at 8.15 a.m.
The start and finish will take place at the Angsana Garden, the
Cinnamon Grand.
The route will be from the Hotel, along Galle Road, turning into
Dharmapala Mawatha, on to Duplication Road to the Bambalapitiya
junction.
The return will be along Galle Road back to the Hotel. Refreshments
will be provided during the Walk and at the end of the walk a raffle
draw will be held.
Colombo Motor Show from Oct 16 - 19
The "Colombo Motor Show 2014" organised by the Asia Exhibition and
Conventions Pvt Ltd., will be held from October 16 to 19 from 10 a.m. to
10 p.m. for four days at the BMICH.
The exhibition will feature all kinds of vehicle displays, motor
cars, motor bikes, 4x4 jeeps, classic, vanguard car archive, water boats
and sports equipment, finance and leasing companies, motor insurance
companies, spare parts, audio and video kits, vehicle cleaning
equipment, tyres, batteries and vehicle security systems and more and
more stalls under varities related to Automobile industry.
Another eye-catching feature will be 4x4 jeeps with young riders who
will perform 'Bike Stunt' hard show at the exhibition ground. This will
be held under three events at 4 p.m. every day.
Father of three appeals for help
Chandra Lalith Jayaweera of Netolpitiya, Tangalle has been suffering
from cancer in the colon, for more than one and a half years. Consultant
Surgeon Dr. Sarath Kumara Kollure of the National Hospital, Colombo had
earlier performed surgery on him. He is now in Ward No. 17 of the Cancer
Hospital, Maharagama, receiving second line chemotherapy from Consultant
Oncologist Dr. Dehan Gunasekara, where has to spend a huge amount for
the drugs and injections.
He is in need of four more injections for which he finds it difficult
to raise Rs. 220,000 for a single vial. He has been advised to take four
of the injections, which he cannot afford.
In addition, doctors have recommended expensive milk foods for him,
which again is beyond his reach. He has three school-going children, and
have appeal for donations which could be remitted to A/C No.3407587,

Fifty-year-old Wijayamunige Jayaratne of Pallekanda, Walasmulla is
suffering from acute renal disorder and needs an 'A' positive kidney for
transplantation as recommended by Consultant Nephrologist of the
National Institute of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation, Colombo
10 Dr. Anura Hewageegana.

Teenage heart patient needs help
Student A.L.M. Affir Deen (14) is suffering from an acute heart
ailment. Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon of Lanka Hospitals, Dr.
Kanchana Singappuli has recommended surgery to be performed at the
Madras Medical Mission, Chennai, India as an earlier procedure was done
there.
His parents who are in needy circumstances, appeal for public

Bamunakotuwa Vishnu Devalaya perahera on September 27

The annual Perahera of Sri Vishnu Maha Devalaya of Bamunakotuwa will
be held on September 27 in the Bamunakotuwa town. The Basnayake Nilame
of the Sri Vishnu Devalaya Wijitha Kithsiri Bandara Jayasundara said
that a number of new items and pageants will be added to the procession
this time to make the perahera more attractive.
