10th Zahira Super 16 sevens on Oct. 18

Zahira Super 16 Soccer: The Past Prefects' Association of Zahira College, Colombo has been organising the "Zahira Super 16 Soccer 7s" football tournament for the past 9 years. This year will be a special honour for the PPA who hopes to successfully conduct this prestigious "10th year" on Saturday 18th October 2014 at Zahira College Ground, Colombo.

The objective of this tournament is to "Add more value to youth football in Sri Lanka."

The participants will be the best 16 soccer playing schools in the Island. This tournament is approved by the Education Ministry and endorsed by the Sri Lankan Schools Football Association (SLSFA).

Some officials of the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) are members of our advisory committee.

This year the organisers have added a 'Star 'edition to the 10th year celebration, in the form of a celebrity soccer match, comprising former National Soccer Stars, National Cricketers, National Rugger players, Popular Singers and elite Businessmen, who will come together to Kick - the - Ball for Charity.

The objective of this match is to "To promote football for youth in Sri Lanka." The Contributions from this match will go towards Development of Education and Football in selected rural schools in the Island. We have planned the Exhibition Match on 08th October 2014 at 4.00pm at Zahira College Grounds.

A press conference will be held on September 24 at 4 p.m. at Zahira College.
