Two-tongued Maithripala carried sacred casket and lied thereafter

Minister Maithripala Sirisena himself carried the casket of sacred relics on President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s birthday pinkama where I too was present along with the Podi Hamuduruwo of the Gangaramaya.

“I myself placed the casket of relics in his hands and asked him to pledge that he would not leave the party”. Thereupon, he said, Hamuduruwane, I won’t leave the party. In spite of that pledge he left the party, former Jathika Hela Urumaya leader MP Ven. Ellawala Medananda Thera told a media conference last Thursday.

The Ven. Thera said, “We cautioned Sarath Fonseka too not to contest against President Rajapaksa, but he ignored it and plunged himself into an abyss as he was misled by his so-called friends.
