Over Rs. 200m to renovate 40 tanks

Forty tanks in the Kurunegala district will be rehabilitated under an accelerated program by the NWP Agriculture Department. Some tanks are being renovated. Agriculture Minister NWP, Sanath Nishantha Perera said that about 5,000 acres of barren land could be brought under the plough after renovating the tanks.

The tanks will be renovated at a cost of Rs. 200 million with the new Budget funds.
