Program to enhance paddy harvest

A comprehensive program to enhance the paddy harvest in the Maha Season 2014/2015 was initiated at the Pothukumbura in the 805 Grama Niladhari Division of Yattowita by the Mathugama Agricultural Instructors office on a directive issued by the Deputy Agricultural Director of Kalutara. Seed paddy, carbonic fertilizer, pesticides and other necessary equipment were provided to cover 5 acres of paddy lands for the harvest enhancement program.

Technical assistance and instructions were provided to the farmers by the Agricultural Inspectors of the area. All abandoned paddy lands in the area would be brought under the plough with parallel to this enhancement program.
