Western Provincial Council Budget passed

The Western Provincial Council adopted its 2015 budget with a
majority of 14 votes last Thursday. Fifty five members voted in favour
of the budget while 41 voted against the budget.
The UPFA, SLMC and ACMC voted in favour of the budget. UNP, JVP and
Democratic Party voted against the budget.
Democratic Party member Asoka Dayaratne also voted in favour of the
budget.
WPC Chief Minister Prasanna Ranatunga addressed the councillors
concluding the budget debate which was held from December 1-4 at WPC
auditorium, Battaramulla. |
