Abortion pills sellers nabbed

Two three-wheeler drivers who pleaded guilty of selling abortion pills to pregnant women were fined Rs. 50,000 each by Kurunegala Chief Magistrate Ravindra Premaratne recently.

The accused had sold abortion pills for Rs. 12,000 and had also advised the women as to how the pills should be taken the police told the magistrate.

The magistrate recently warned the suspects against commenting such offences.
