Mercedes-Benz golf Awards at Nuwara Eliya

Mercedes-Benz celebrates the Jubilee of Sri Lanka's exclusive golf tournament the Mercedes Trophy 2015 at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club amidst a grand celebration by Diesel and Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO) as sponsors of the 25th Anniversary.

Sri Lanka's top golfing players will gather at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club on May 23nd for the Mercedes Trophy Sri Lanka Country Finals. The participation is limited to owners of Mercedes - Benz, Jeep and Chryster vehicles.

This is a much looked forward to event among the golfing fraternity and there are plenty of awards that await the winners.

Besides the awards, the winners stand the chance of competing in the Mercedes Trophy Asian finals and if successful compete in the world finals in Germany.

To commemorate the Silver Jubilee, DIMO will be offering a brand new Mercedes-Benz passenger car as the hole-in-one prize. There will be three handicap groups for men (Division A: 3-12, Division B: 13-20, Division C: 21-24) and one handicap group for women (Division D 0-36). Closing date for entries will be 15th May 2015 and registration can be done online at www.mercedes-benz.com.lk

In 1989 the first Mercedes Trophy was held, with the participation of six European countries.

This 25 year-old tournament is now one of the most popular golfing events where, more than 60,000 participants take part every year. Over the nearly a million customers and fans of the brand from all over the world have teed off at the Mercedes Trophy.

The climax of the series is the world final, which for has been held traditionally in and around Stuttgart, the "cradle of the automobile". This venue underlines the close relations between the brand Mercedes-Benz and golf.

The top winners in each handicap categories of the Sri Lanka Country finals will qualify for the Asian Final, with an all expenses paid trip to Australia.

The winner of each handicap category at the Asian final will qualify for the World Final in Stuttgart, Germany.
