Vazians beat Marians by 5 wickets

St.Joseph Vaz College Wenappuwa defeated St.Mary's College Chilaw by 5 wickets in their sixthanuual big match played at the Shirley Corea Stadium, Wennapuwayesterday.

Resuming from 140 for 4 in reply to theMarians total of 168 on day two the Vazians declared at 209 for 9.Shehara Ranatunga scored 43. Marians in their second inningscollapsed to a paltry 109 with Avishka Fernando claiming 3 for 46. Set to make 69 runs to win ,St.Joseph Vaz reached the target for theloss of five wickets.
