Sean Wijesinghe a success at Kandy SC

Former Trinitian Sean Mark Wijesinghe who led the Kandy Sports Club
for the second time celebrated his return as captain once again, being
successful in winning two trophies in 2015 - the Rugby League and
Clifford Cup after a lapse of two years. In his first captaincy in 2009
won the triple championship.
He played for Trinity College in the year 2000 under the captaincy of
D.H.A. Luchow, and was coached by Ikrma Odayar.
In 2001 under the captaincy of T. Jayawardene, and the guidance of
coach the Late Quentin Israel. As a schoolboy Wijesinghe joined Kandy
Sports Club.
His promising career began in 2002, he has a huge work rate and is
often called "clean up" man working in close quarters and making tackles
after tackle.
Sean was a late addition to Kandy Sports Club and once he came in,
was permanent and indispensable.
He was also an expert lineout jumper, with a passion to coach and
helped up and coming players, both in the club and his old school which
eventually made him an honorary leader in the Kandy Sports Club.
Besides, being valuable and experienced in leadership.
Sean Wijesinghe, a product of Moratuwa, started his schooling at
Veera Purannappu Vidyalaya, Moratuwa from grade one to four, and joined
Trintiy College from grade 5, where he took up rugby and played in all
age groups and also was a top basketball player under Sarath Pingamage.
He had an wonderful opportunity of captaining the Kandy Sports Club
side in 2009 ,where he led to win the tipple championship and was once
again called in the season 2014/15 to lead the side when the side was
not faring well in the two years before which he did in style in 2015.
