Pelwatte Dairy empowers local milk farmers
Pelwatte Dairy helps around 25,000 milk farmers and their families in
the country. About 150,000-200,000 litres of milk are collected daily at
collection points in close proximity to dairy farming communities,
before being transported to the Pelwatte Dairy factory.
Chairman, Pelwatte Dairy Industries, Ariyaseela Wickramanayake said,
"Our dairy farmers produce some of the finest fresh milk in the world
and we need to support the industry by purchasing this milk instead of
relying on imports."
Stringent quality control measures are in place throughout the entire
process of milk collection and production, he said.
All Pelwatte Dairy products are 100% natural, with no additives,
chemicals or preservatives added to any of the wide range of products.
Fresh milk is also used to produce butter, sterilised milk, yoghurt and
ice-cream, a company spokesman said.
Wickramanayake said, "All our milk and milk-based products are
produced using only local fresh milk. By this, we guarantee customers
freshness and goodness in every product. We need to promote our own
products while improving the people's living standard."
Director, Marketing, Pelwatte Dairy, Akmal Wickramanayake said, "Pelwatte
dairy products are known for their quality and goodness. We have won the
confidence of consumers not only because of the standards we follow but
also due to the fact that we are a local company, using local produce
that is safe and healthy". |
