Transport back to normal

Transport services will return to normal after the New Year. Chairman of the National Transport Commission M.A.P. Hemachandra said transport arrangements for the New Year ending on April 25, will continue as planned.

Several buses were deployed during this season with temporary permits. "The reason for the lack of buses during the weekend, was due to sabotage by a private bus owner," he said.

The National Transport Commission hotline 1955 and 0112333222 received over 25 complaints. Hemachandra said most of them were about buses overcharging commuters.
