World Habitat Day was held in Colombo
under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa recently.
Several programs were conducted benefiting 30,000 families

A ceremony to mark the 6oth
anniversary of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and
Japan organised by the Sri Lanka-Japan Friendship Society
was held at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla on Friday. Here

Sri Lanka’s first ever aircraft
repair centre was opened at Koggala Export Processing Zone
by the Western Province Agriculture, Agrarian Development,
Minor Irrigation, Industries and Environment Minister Udaya
Gammanpila recently. The establishment of this centre
would fulfil another requirement of transforming Sri Lanka
into an aviation hub. The centre has the capacity to repair
three aircraft at any given time. Under the second stage,
its capacity will be expanded to the level of repairing 10
aircraft at once. Deputy Speaker

The United Sri Lanka Association
(USLA) in Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand celebrated the
29th anniversary of the founding of USLA recently. Here Dr.
Ranatunga Kalupahana, President, USLA welcomes the chief
guest, the Mayor Ray Wallace, dignitaries and community
members.

choreographed by the Director of the Sri Lanka Dance
Academy, Dayani Gonsalkorale, during the USLA anniversary

Minister of Public Management Reforms
Navin Dissanayake MP, distributed goods worth Rs. 19 million
among 544 Samurdhi beneficiaries and low income group
families in the Nuwara Eliya district, under Samurdhi and
Divi Neguma programs recently at Cita Hall, Nuwara Eliya.
