ANC Education offers medical qualification

ANC Education a higher education institute with Angeles University Foundation (AUF) in the Philippines to offer students an opportunity to obtain Doctor of Medicine (MD).

Manager, Enrolment Management, Study Medicine, Mafaz Raheem, President,
Angeles University Foundation, Atty. Joseph Emmanuel Lukban Angeles, M.D.,
Dean, School of Medicine, Angeles University Foundation, Evelyn B. Yumiaco, Acting Dean, College of Arts and Sciences, Angeles University Foundation, Olga Angelinetta P. Tulabut, Ph.D., Manager, Enrolment Management, ANC Education, Jani Jayasinghe, Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Angeles University Foundation, Archimedes T. David, Ph.D.

The MD is recognised and accepted by the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) and World Health Organisation (WHO) and many other international medical councils including Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG - USA), General Medical Council (GMC - UK) and the Australian Medical Council (AMC).

The Doctor of Medicine program offered at AUF is based on the American system where medicine is considered a postgraduate degree. According to this system, students are required to complete a bachelor's degree prior to proceeding to the medical degree program.

Students are given the exposure in related science, mathematics and humanity courses for medical school at the pre-medicine degree stage.

"Pursuing a doctor of medicine program at AUF is a great opportunity for Sri Lankan students to earn an internationally recognised medical qualification in a convenient location such as the Philippines. As a non-profit private university AUF focuses on giving only the best to our students as regards education, facilities and resources," said President of Angeles University Foundation, Joseph Angeles.

"There are many foreign medical degrees but not all of them are accepted by the SLMC. If a student hopes to return to Sri Lanka to practise as a doctor then it is crucial to study in a university that is listed with the SLMC," said AGM, Degree Completion Programs, ANC Education, Gishan Sumanasiri.

"This is one of the reasons for the ANC-AUF collaboration. ANC offers students the option to work wherever they wish to in the world. That is the reason we continue to offer education which is truly world-class. The MD is offered at a fee that is affordable", he said.
