BoC wins three Business Excellence awards

The Bank of Ceylon won the Gold award in the Banking and Financial
Services Sector, Silver in the Extra Large Category and Bronze in the
Overall category.
This is the second consecutive year that BoC has won the Gold award.
A spokesman for the Bank said, "The Bank has reached its pinnacle in
2012 by achieving key milestones. In the past five years the Bank has
doubled its assets, deposits, loans, shareholder's wealth and quadrupled
its profits."
"The BoC became the first bank in Sri Lanka to reach Rs. 1 trillion
in assets. This year the first US Dollar bond was issued and brought
$500 m to the country.
It is ranked among the top 1,000 global banks by the banking and
finance magazine, 'The Banker'. Brand Finance Lanka has ranked BoC as
the number one brand in Sri Lanka for the past four consecutive years."
"The BoC has concluded its third quarter reporting a remarkable
performance with competitive financial results in the industry. Compared
to the corresponding period of the past year pre-tax profit grew by 62.8
percent to Rs.16.3 b. The Bank's revenue for the first three quarters
reached Rs. 78.8 b, a 50.8 percent growth over the corresponding period,
last year.
