Commercial Credit ‘D’ Division champs

Commercial Credit emerged the Mercantile ‘D’ Division champions when they beat Mobitel by 8 wickets and took away the Elephant Lemonade Trophy in the final played at MCA grounds yesterday. In a low scoring match, Mobitel winning the toss and taking first lease managed only 103 runs in 35.4 overs. Malith Silva (3 for 22), Kavinda Silva (3 for 18) and Dakshina Liyanage (2 for 9) bowled well for the winners. Commercial Credit in their turn made short work by reaching the victory target (104) in 20.4 overs. Kavinda Silva gave a fine all-round display striking a rapid unbeaten 63 off 61 balls with three sixes and five fours.

Mobitel: 103 in 35.4 overs (Nadeesha Sampath 13, Ujitha Sepala 20, Tharindu Hashan 15, Tariq Nazier 12 n.o, Malith Fernando 3 for 22, Kavinda Silva 3 for 18, Dakshina Liyanage 2 for 9).

Commercial Credit: 107 for 2 in 20.4 overs (Kavinda Silva 63 n.o, Anura Dias 21 n.o, Pahan Serassinghe 2 for 21).
