Sunethra Wijeratne - Best Sportswoman at Mahamaya

Sunethra Wiejratne who won the two-mile sea swim for a number of
years was selected as the Best Sportswoman of Mahamaya Girls College at
the Colours Awards ceremony at the College Auditorium last Wednesday.
The chief guest at the occasion was A. Natharajan - Assistant High
Commissioner for India in Sri Lanka. Merit awards were won by 172
students, 4 students received All-Island Awards, 54 students received
Special awards and 46 students received colours.
The highest award 'Pahana' was won by 6 students - Lumbini Arambewela
- Chess, Kasushalya Rowel and Devmini Kularatne - Swimming, Chandima
Madushani - Table Tennis, Y.T. Joolampitiya and D.M.M. Muhandiram -
Cadeting.
