IFS to unify business info for 1,000 web-based users in Asia
Singer has chosen IFS, the global enterprise applications company to
unify its customer, inventory and financial information systems. This
visibility of real-time data will enable to reduce costs and increase
profit margins, along with standardising best practices across the
region.
One-thousand web users are now using the system, which is the highest
number of users connected in the Asian region. Vice President, of IFS
South Asia Jayantha de Silva said that "Much of the development of our
standardised solution took place in Sri Lanka by our consulting arm. As
IFS technology is component-based, the developments made in this region
can now be used globally and upgraded to any version of IFS."
Singer, one of the world's leading retailers of home appliances and
furniture, as well as consumer and artisan sewing machines, [anvano2]
needs to track business information throughout its Regional network.
The IFS Retail and Hire Purchase solution, which will be used across
its branch network, comprising over 1,000 shops, will give Singer
greater visibility of all transactions, hire purchase and financing
schemes.
It will also improve the coordination of order-tracking,
manufacturing, inventory and shipping of goods between multiple
locations. "Our aim in implementing IFS Applications was to improve
processes allowing local management more time to analyse and reflect on
their businesses, with a flow on improvement in forecasting," said Theo
Renard, CFO, Singer Asia.
"Now, when a customer makes an order in a Singer shop, traceability
of that transaction is available all the way up to the managing
director. |
