Can a mother stop grieving and forget a son who
fought for his country till his death? Can a society neglect a
mother who produced a war hero? Living with memories of heroic sons,
the only wealth that the mothers of fallen heroes have, the pictures
of brave soldiers clad in army uniforms. These mothers are the
silent sufferers within their own family and also within society.

the State forces, resulting in the death and disappearance of about
60,000 youth, Sudath says when he wrote the script for Udugang
Yamaya, he was aware of the slow "rhythm" of the plot and had kept
it "slow" on purpose.
