Significance of the two full moons in May:
We had two Full Moon Poya Days last month, May 1,
and 31. The Full Moon Day which fell on May 1 was declared the Vesak
Full Moon Poya and May 31 was named 'Adhi Poya'. The result of this
was that question was raised whether the Vesak celebration was done
on the right Poya day.

in uplifting the economic wellbeing of the impoverished segments of
the population, but it has not been tested on patients suffering
from psychiatric ailments for its therapeutic value and imparting

Prof. Malani Karunanayaka Endagama is today
in-charge of the Ceylon History project launched by the Ministry of
Education in order to revive 'History' as a compulsory subject in
the school syllabus from grade six to 12. Dr. Pandula Endagama, a
rebel who has raised his head and voice in many circumstances during
the crises of the nation works as a Consultant for Environment and
Culture at present.
