'Colombo Artists' an art exhibition by a group of five with a newest
experience, will be held on June 6 and 7 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at
the Lionel Wendt Arts Gallery. The exhibition will include paintings,
sculptures, installations and mix medium art works by T.P.G. Amarajeewa,
Upul Chamila Bandara, Anuradha Hinakarachchi, Chaminda Gamage and
Kingsley Gunethilake.
The organisers expect the exhibition will be an experience, as they
have tried to bring out something completely new for art lovers.
'Colombo artists' is the constrastive name which they chose, as their
is not an organisation comprised with artists from Colombo. Anyway
Chaminda Gamage, one of them said that they wanted this opportunity to
raise a question on behalf of the islandwide artists in any medium.
He asked 'all these facilities and resources are only for the Colombo
Artists and can an artist be identified as regional level.
Entrance is free and it is open for discussion on the topic with the
artists.
