All- island inter school announcing competition 2007 on June 9

The Broadcasting Unit of Ananda College, Colombo for the eighth consecutive occasion is organising the All Island Inter School Announcing Competition, which will be conducted in both Sinhala and English media.

The English competition will be held on June 9 and will commence at 8 a.m. at the College premises.

The competition will be carried out in three categories with the usual age group barriers.

Junior category - Years 6, 7 and 8

Intermediate category - Years 9, 10 and 11

Senior category - years 12 and 13

The Sports Commentary Competition will also be conducted for the second consecutive year which will be an open competition. (No age group restrictions.)

Every school has the opportunity of sending two competitors to each category. 10 competitors will be qualified to the finals (the 2nd round) in each category.

In the sports commentary, competition winners will be selected straightaway from the first round.

The organisers of the competition have invited over 250 schools islandwide to take part in this event. The competition will be judged by the leading media personalities in the country.
