Phoenix Industries wins three Golds at Lanka Star Awards

Phoenix Industries, a market leader for providing plastic solutions, with a 30-year-history, won three gold awards, a silver and a bronze award, at the recently concluded Lanka Star Awards organised by the Sri Lanka Institute of Packaging and the Packaging Development Centre.

The Chief Guest at the event was the Project Coordinator GTZ, C. Gregorian, while the Guest of Honour was Kingsley Wickremaratna, former Minister and Governor. CEO Phoenix Industries, Hasith Prematillake said that it was indeed gratifying to be the recipient of not just one but three gold awards.

"This contest is held to determine the highest levels of Sri Lanka's current packaging technology, with the selection based on the criteria of material, concept, techniques, logistics, and environmental compatibility and is a precursor to the prestigious Asia Star and World Star events, hence we are indeed proud of our achievements", said Prematillake.

Phoenix Industries was awarded Gold for their Storage Boxes with Wheels, Nestable/Stackable Jumbo Crates and Plastic Fish Crates. They won the silver award for their C 32 Stackable Crate and the Bronze award for their one Litre Ice Cream Container.

Phoenix Industry's main factory is in the Makandara Industrial Zone and their product range includes crates, boxes, packaging solutions, furniture, household plastics, as well as tooth brushes.

According to Prematillake, their crates and boxes are used by a wide range of industries for bottling, tea, fish, garments, agriculture and bakery items, while as a packaging solutions provider the Company's value added solutions include printing, labelling, sleeving, assembly and hot stamping.

"We are very dynamic in the furniture segment as well and have a range of products which include chairs, tables and stools with the latest addition to this range being stadium chairs".
