Mahajana Development Foundation launched

Sri Lanka Mahajana Development Foundation; a non political,
non-profit making organisation was launched last week with the prime
objective of uplifting the living standards of the community through
various social friendly activities.
"People in the society are facing numerous difficulties and to fill
that long felt need at least with a least effort this was set up", said
by the Foundation Chairman Jagath Chandra Irugalbandara.
According to the foundation chairman it already has a membership of
over 10,300 and their target is 4,000,000 members within next two
months. Speaking over the benefits for the members Mr. Irugalbandara
said that it has covered almost all the requirements of general life
with extra opportunities.
Members of the foundation have been assisted with medical, insurance,
loan and scholarship opportunities. Going further Mahajana Development
Foundation also makes opportunities for its numbers to worship
Buddhagaya. Guidance and assistance for the short term and medium level
enterprises also includes in the benefits list.
All 22 districts have been appointed District Development Officers.
They are guided by the Foundation Advisory Board and the Director Board.
Motor bicycles and communication equipments were distributed for the
district development officers making their process easier at the
launching ceremony took place last week in Colombo. |
