Model collectors here's your chance!

The scenario is different for a selected few with a heart of a child who are bent on indulging in constructive play as it were to develop a fancy for miniature models which may be as good as to have and to hold till death do us part if circumstances don't permit one the means to possess the real thing; that dream car or love of the vintage years, the pilot, captain of a ship, sailor or engine driver you dreamed of being or simply a person whose obsession was the subject of transportation.

They have it all, The Hobby Club for Gentlemen, the miniature Model Club of Sri Lanka (MMCSL) with a fairly large membership from juniors to very senior members is a club with a difference, non profit oriented but intensely concerned about promoting the interest of a distinctive hobby among its members as well as the general public.

An exhibition apart from the usual themes of art and painting, the MMCSL will present the third model exhibition showcasing renowned Marques, Rio Liedo's, Solido's, Corgis's, Matchbox's, Dinkys, the Hornby and other makes of electric trains, airport layouts, ships, vintage and racing cars, boats and planes, trucks and lorries and a host of other exhibits including sale of scale model cars at the Mount Lavinia Hotel from October 19-21 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

A worldwide popular exhibition, the Connoisseur Collectors, the famous auction houses in the world consider these models as miniature treasures explained President of the MMCSL, Desmond Atapattu.

The MMCSL committee comprises Desmond Atapattu, President, Milinda Hettiarachchi, Immediate Past President, Chandana Amaratunga Secretary, Ali Azeez Treasurer, Thusitha Atapattu, Yakoub Bin Ahmed, Russel de Saram, Hercil Fernando, Rishanka Fernandopulle Ishan Raji, Oshan Samaranayake, Vinodh Wickremeratne and Craig Wilson. The founder member of the MMCSL being genial Farih Fauz.
