Professor Yasmine Gooneratne:
Not promoting the pretensions of' ‘literary theory'
After receiving a first class Honours degree from
the University of Ceylon, Gooneratne attended Cambridge University
in the late 1950s. For her doctoral thesis she selected Sri Lankan
Writing in English.
