UPFA Govt marks its second anniversary
The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) completes
two years in office today. It was exactly two years ago, on April 8,
2010 when the UPFA retained power with a near two-thirds majority The
UPFA recorded a landslide victory at the 2010 General election by
securing 144 seats out of 225 in Parliament under the leadership of
President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Enough food stocks during festive season -Johnston Fernando
The price of sugar, canned fish and sprats has also
been drastically reduced. As the Internal Trade Minister, I can assure
the prices of day-to-day consumer items have not been increased.
Actually politicians are dedicated to the well-being of the people and
to the development drive implemented by the Government. In this context,
I don’t believe politicians have to make any additional sacrifice. This
is the first time that this kind of mega development is taking place
throughout the country ,
