Some Sri Lankan families affected by the recent earthquake in San
Felice Sul Panaro, 450 Km north east of Rome, Italy, were provided
temporary accommodation, food and other basic facilities by Sri Lanka's
Ambassador to Italy Asita Perera.
The Ambassador had visited the epicentre of the earthquake, at San
Felice Sul Panaro where several Sri Lankans had got displaced and a few
Italians had died.
Ambassador Perera met the members of the commune (City Council)
including the Deputy Mayor of San Felice Sul Panaro Giovanni Giovenelli
and arranged temporary accommodation for the displaced Sri Lankans at
the main school in the town where several Italian families too had been
housed.
The commune and civil protection authorities will provide food to the
displaced Sri Lankans, Ambassador Perera said.
