Indo-Italian Chamber to enhance business ties with Italy
The "Sri Lanka - Italy business link will be strengthened in the
years to come" said Secretary General of the Indo Italian Chamber,
Sergio Sgambato at the luncheon meeting organised by the Sri Lanka -
Italy Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce recently.
The meeting focused on import and export opportunities and challenges
in the Italian market for Sri Lankan exporters and importers.
President of the Sri Lanka - Italy Business Council, Daya Raathnayake
said that Sri Lanka were keen to improve ties with the Indo-Italian
Chamber to have positive growth results in the near future with Italy.
He said that the trade between Sri Lanka and Italy is on an increase
over the past few years which has shown encouraging results to the
businessmen trading with Italy. "This is a positive sign that Sri Lankan
businessmen have included Italy as a country to have growing
partnerships with and vice versa", Raathnayake said.
The Sri Lanka Italy Business Council was formed in October 1998,
under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. The Council focuses
on 'promoting investment, trade and joint venture between Sri Lanka and
Italy'.
