Kataragama Esala festival from July 19 - Aug 2

The Basnayake Nilame of Kataragama Maha Devalaya, Sashindra Kumara Rajapaksa said the 2012 Annual Esala festival will commence on July 19 and conclude on August 1 followed by the water cutting ceremony on August 2. He announced the dates to the final Esala Festival Review Committee which was held to assign duties to the respective officers in charge of the festival.

The meeting held at the Daya Gamage Hall at Kirivehera, was held under the patronage of Kirivehera Raja Maha Viharadhipathi and Chancellor of Uva Wellassa University Ven. Dr. Aluthwewa Soratha Thera.

Moneragala District Secretary and Esala Festival Camp Officer A. Pathinadan, Southern Province D.I.G. Nandana Wijeratne, Hambantota ASP C.V. Wedisinghe, Uva Province Health Secretary Mrs. Ambanwela and the Army Commander of Kataragama area participated.
