Once again aspiring young fashion designers will have the opportunity to give expression to their hidden talents by participating in the CATS - SINGER Designer of the Year 2012 contest, with the Sunday Observer as the media partner. Now's the time for you to take out your pencils, brushes and paint and create those designs that range from elegant styles to fancy styles and may be even those that are bold and daring. Remember these styles reflect your individual creativity and artistry.

The contest is open to females and males with no age limit. All you have to do today, is to fill in the coupon published on the page and mail it to the Sunday Observer.

There will be 10 categories of fashion styles and the judges will look at design communication, conceptual thinking, image presentation and of course individuality which is vital.

The 10 categories are saree wear, evening wear, office wear, sports wear, swim wear, lingerie, casual wear. In this contest for the first time, three new categories have been included - the popular bridal wear, kiddies wear and winter wear.

Sketches for the individual categories will be called for after we receive your coupon duly filled. A contestant can chose three categories and the sketches should be drawn on A4 paper. When you are called for the interview you should be ready with your sketches.

The organisers said us that the first three winners of the contest will take home sewing machines with the compliments of Singer while the other participants will receive attractive prizes. The finale will be held in eight weeks'.
