The 'Havies' gave a powerful display right from the kick off planting
three tries within the first fifteen minutes of play which completely
rattled the Maitland Crescent outfit in no uncertain manner. The
Havelock Park club got their act together with their set of forwards and
backs combining effectively to score almost at will. With the dominance
of the Havelocks, CH and FC could do nothing to prevent their opponents
running in circles in their territory. With centre Lee Keegal, Mithun
Hapugoda and winger Sandun Herath scoring a try each which was converted
the Havelock SC took a useful 27-7 lead at the breather with a Samoa
Alexander try converted by Nalin Kumara for the CH&FC.
After the turn around Havelocks went on to add a further 30 points
when Anurudha Willawara collecting a pass from Sheriff scored under the
post and centre Sopo Puliami struck twice with his powerful runs to
touch down down under the post and during the last stages of the match
number 8 Aijul Nissan darted through the 'CH' fragile defence to score.
Sopo Puliami added the extra points.
For CH&FC the only scoring opportunity in the second half came
through the boot of Nalin Kumara who put over a penalty.
