Minister Karaliyadda for Dhaka meeting

A delegation led by Child Development and Women's Affairs Minister Tissa Karaliyadda will leave for Dhaka, Bangladesh today to participate in the 10th Commonwealth Women's Affairs Ministers Meeting to be held in Dhaka from June 17-19 under the theme 'Women's Leadership for Enterprise'.

The meeting will be held under the patronage of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma at Banghabandu International Conference Centre (BICC). Promoting women's entrepreneurship, gender equity through financial inclusion for sustainable growth and development, women's leadership for democracy and enterprise and post-2015 gender priorities will be discussed at this conference to be attended by all Commonwealth women's affairs ministers.

A meeting between Minister Karaliyadda and former Women's Affairs Minister of Bangladesh and Speaker of the Bangladeshi Parliament, Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will also be held on the sidelines of the conference.

Director Sri Lanka Women's Bureau R.A. Chulananda and Advisor to the Minister Sirisena Tennekoon, will also participate in the conference.
