Royal in 13-9 win, but Trinity retain Bradby Shield

Royal beat their traditional rugby rivals Trinity by 13 points (one goal one penalty and a drop goal) to 9 (three penalties) in their second ‘leg’ match at the Royal College Sports Complex grounds, but the coveted Bradby Shield remained in Kandy by virtue of Trinity’s first ‘leg’ win by 37/25 and the 12 points lead obtained two weeks ago in Pallekelle.

Thomians regain the Lady Jayatilleke Shield

S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavina recorded a smashing 39 points (four goals, two penalties, one try) to 17 (two tries, one goal) win over St. Joseph’s College, Colombo in their Lady Jayathilaka Shield rugby encounter played at Havelock Park yesterday after leading 13-12 at the breather.
