Thurstan's Minhaj Jaleel (75,003) sprang into the lead once again
with a 124 votes lead pushing last week's winner Royal's Milan
Abeysekera (74,879) to the second place in the 'Platinum' competition
for schools playing in Division I in the SLSCA tournament in the Sunday
Observer/ Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year 2013
contest.
With the contest hotting up, there were coupons pouring in for all
three categories and Yamal Siriwardena of St. John's, Nugegoda
maintained his supremacy at the top polling 60,314 votes to Sri
Devananada's Sakunda de Silva who was behind 334 votes polling 59,980
votes in the 'Gold' segment for schools taking part in the SLSCA
Division II tournament.
In the 'silver' contest for Division III schools Ishara Hewage
(53,998) of Sri Rahula, Katugasthota, who was placed first last week had
to take the second place with Loyala College, Negombo's Trishan Rodrigo
(54,302) occupying the number one slot with a majority of 304 votes.
